Montepulciano has always held a special place in Hans’ heart, as the first person to plant this varietal in Marlborough back in 1996, you can imagine there were a lot of eyes on how this would play out. Will this be successful in a region dominated by Sauvignon Blanc? Hans was adamant that his vineyard, set in one of the hottest plots in Marlborough, could ripen this varietal easily. Twenty four years later and this powerhouse has stood the test of time and has received some admiration along the way. One of our most famous wines worldwide and once tasted, you can see why.

However we have managed to persuade him to put together a vertical, one so exclusive that it has never been put together before… Introducing our Italian Library Collection. This collection allows you to try side by side our current vintage with their aged counterpart, taste for yourself how well these wines have aged.
