These labels are only produced in exceptional years and show outstanding depth and complexity. These are wines that are ready to be enjoyed now or to be cellared for more years as they will do nothing but keep improving.
Presented in our Herzog wooden case, this collection includes:
Sauvignon Blanc 'Grande Duchesse' 2016
A stunning 'Indian' summer in 2016 led to an outstanding vintage for Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Small yields, luscious grapes. A vintage so good, Hans decided to create something truly special. Our 'Grande Duchesse'. This wine showcases a complex bouquet of white flowers, ripe peach, nectarine with silky smooth tannins. Having recently tried our 2010 Grande Duchesse, we can vouch that this wine ages so elegantly you will want to put it in the cellar.
Pinot Noir 'Grand Duc' 2015
From time to time, when the stars align, Hans is able to produce not only a gorgeous Pinot Noir, but a 'Grand Duc'. These grapes were selected from rows with higher clay content to achieve natural concentration and complexity. 2015 provided a long growing season, enhancing flavours and aromas which resulted in this very special Pinot Noir.
Nebbiolo 'Gran Riserva' 2013
When it comes to perfecting our Nebbiolo, there is no cost spared. A extremely small yield of 500g per vine, picked from our warm, sandy gravelly soils grew a wine which can stand up to the great Barbaresco or Barolos. Having spent 30 months in barrel and the remaining time in bottle, this is a serious wine to drink now or keep away in the cellar for further ageing. Only 500 bottles were created of this rare nectar which has been deemed a sommeliers choice.
